The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager to lead POST, our flagship Italian restaurant. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this hands‑on leadership role is responsible for delivering exceptional service, leading a high‑performing team and ensuring the smooth and professional operation of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the restaurant to ensure consistent, high‑quality service
- Implement, review and maintain service standards and operational procedures
- Lead the team through busy service periods with hands‑on involvement
- Ensure guests receive warm, professional and memorable service at all times
- Respond to guest enquiries, requests and feedback in a timely and effective manner
- Maintain strong knowledge of hotel offerings, VIP movements, events and local attractions
- Work closely with the Kitchen team to ensure food quality and service expectations are met
- Collaborate with hotel departments to deliver a seamless guest experience
- Act as Manager on Duty as required, supporting the overall operation of the hotel
- Monitor and manage reservations, ensuring accuracy and optimal table utilisation
- Ensure all areas of the restaurant are presented to the highest standard at all times
- Lead, train and develop team members across all food and beverage procedures
- Support team members involved in reservations and bookings
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and coaching
- Foster a positive, engaged and professional team culture
- Encourage team contribution through responsible upselling and guest engagement
- Maintain staff morale and promote retention through a supportive work environment
- Assist with rostering to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Analyse labour and beverage costs to meet budget expectations
- Attend and contribute to revenue and operational meetings
- Maintain security and integrity of cash handling, stock, keys and equipment
- Represent the restaurant and hotel at meetings, events and guest functions as required
- Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures and undertake other reasonable duties as directed.
About You
- Proven experience in a Restaurant Manager or senior hospitality leadership role
- Strong people leadership skills with a hands‑on management style
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Sound understanding of reservations systems and cost control
- Ability to remain calm, organised and professional during peak periods
- Passion for food, beverage and delivering outstanding guest experiences
