Part-time Role

Available shifts-Week 1 & 2: Wed, Thu, Fri & Tue

We are looking to recruit a Kitchen hand for Aegis Amberley. Ideally, we are seeking someone with a Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery who is interested in developing their skills and progressing in the future.

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

  • Enjoys working with the elderly.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
  • Has good communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Aegis will provide:

A working day will involve:

  • Preparing and serving resident’s meals according to dietary / care plans in accordance with developed menus.
  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.

You should possess the following:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in Healthcare Industry).
  • Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
  • A knowledge of food safety.
  • Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.

Aegis Amberley has been designed to offer a broad range of accommodation and lifestyle options for 111 residents in four wings.

Spearwood is a suburb surrounded by wetlands and the sea. We have used this water connection to name each of the areas or wings after the islands along the coast. From north to south we have Rottnest, Garden, Carnac and Penguin. Aegis Amberley is an 'ageing in place' facility and both High and Low care accommodation is available in all areas. Garden offers specialist secure dementia care. Penguin offers High Care Extra Services.
