We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our newly opened Aegis Health facility in the heart of Murdoch! Must be available Monday- Friday.

About the Role

Join the team at our brand-new Aegis Health Hospital and be part of something special from day one. We're looking for a passionate Cook to join us in a part-time role, creating fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals that make a real difference to the wellbeing of our patients.

Although this is for our Aegis Health, your work will be based in our Aegis Aged Care main kitchen and preparing food for the hospital for our Kitchen Hand to deliver and serve. 

A working day will involve:

  • Organising kitchen staff in the preparation and delivering of patient food.
  • Preparing resident’s meals according to dietary plans and menus developed.
  • Managing receipt of stores, and food storage according to the relevant regulations.
  • Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.

About You

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

  • Enjoys working with the elderly.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Is able to supervise, organise and guide staff, to deliver high quality catering outcomes.
  • Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
  • Can communicate effectively both verbally and written.

You should possess the following:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
  • Healthcare experience (highly regarded).
  • A high level of food safety knowledge.
  • Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
