Your Role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital
You will assist the Executive Chef with the daily management of the kitchen and ensuring that the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals are of a high standard and in accordance with the Australian Dietary Guidelines.

The Position

Assist the Executive Chef with:

  • Orientation of all new staff.

  • Relevant on-going, on-the-job training of all staff.

  • Continual supervision of all staff.

  • Continual supervision of all kitchen and dining room equipment and facilities.

  • Completion of related Quality Improvement Program audits.

  • Completion of related documents for HACCP audits.

  • Developing menus and recipes for functions and events.

  • Delivery and execution of function catering.

  • Basic food handling orientation session plan.

  • Copies of food handling guidelines for distribution to all staff.

  • Chef/FSA checklist re: relevant food handling issues per section.

  • Training plan for each section of kitchen/dining room.

  • Quality Improvement Program audit sheets and action sheets.

You will have completed a Chef Trade Certificate and have an understanding of time and kitchen management, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage performance under pressure.

To succeed you will have sound interpersonal and effective communication skills. You will be competent in the use of computers and office software and have the ability to manage cost and ordering of supplies.

Previous experience in a supervisory role will be highly regarded.

  • Salary: $71,568 to $73,344 per annum, plus 12% superannuation
