I. The Senior Role: VENUE MANAGER
The Venue Manager is the Captain of the Ship, responsible for the overall success, profitability, and direction of Last Slice.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Recruit, train and manage staff, fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture. As a venue manager, you will be responsible to showcase exceptional time management skills and personal presentation while maintaining an energetic atmosphere. You’ll also be in charge of rostering the front of house teams, creating schedules that align with targets, guidelines and budgets.
- Daily Operations: Overseeing all aspects of venue operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient environment.
- Customer Experience: Prioritise guest satisfaction by maintaining high service standards and addressing customer inquiries and concerns.
- Financial Management: Monitoring budgets, managing inventory and maximising profitability while maintaining quality service.
- Events and Marketing: Collaborate with our marketing team to promote events in venue and attract new customers through social media and community outreach. You’ll also be responsible to be up to date with special events, promotions and game day activities.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Venue/Bar management or a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of beverage trends, mixology and best industry practices
- Knowledge of inventory management, POS systems, and financial reporting
- Passion for sports and an understanding of the sports bar environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- All required WA licenses (Approved Manager Card, RSA, Food Handlers certificate)
- First Aid Certificate or a willingness to obtain it immediately
II. The Operational Role: SHIFT MANAGER
The Shift Manager is the On-Duty Leader, responsible for ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant service during every shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Seamless Operation of Services: Ensuring the smooth running of shifts, coordinating bookings, and managing service flow
- Sports Display Management: Managing the venue displays to play the most relevant sporting events in the correct areas
- Bar Service: Preparing and serving alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages to specification and maintaining quality beverage service
- Staff Oversight: Direct management of staff during shifts, including ongoing on-the-job training and team supervision
- Daily Tasks: Accurate stock maintenance, verification of incoming inventory, strong cash-handling, and resolving day-to-day customer issues
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with OH&S and RGL policies on the floor
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of 1+ year of supervisory experience in a high-volume hospitality environment.
- A current Approved Manager Card, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, and Hospitality Hygiene for Food Handlers certificate
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and clear communication
- Passion for sports and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Full work rights and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
