Head barista, supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Barista and Store Supervisor to join our team at Common Bakery – High St' in Fremantle, WA. This is a casual position that will see you leading our bar operations and help overall running of the store.

What you'll be doing

1. Managing and training our barista team to deliver exceptional coffee and service
2. Overseeing daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, stock management, and customer service
3. Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained in the store
4. Providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships with our regular customers
5. Managing staff rostering and timekeeping
6. Assisting with cash handling and end-of-day reconciliations
7. Supporting the Store Manager with broader business initiatives

What we're looking for

1. 2+ years of experience as a Head Barista or in a similar supervisory role within the hospitality industry
2. Strong barista skills and knowledge of coffee preparation and equipment maintenance
3. Excellent customer service skills and ability to lead and motivate a team
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work well under pressure and juggle multiple tasks
6. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
7. Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends
