Permanent Part-Time Role

Shifts:

• W1 and W2 - Monday to Thursday - 06:00 - 14:00

We are currently seeking a reliable and trustworthy Cook who can commit to 4 shifts per week (8 shifts per fortnight). Preference will be given to candidates with strong experience working in an aged care kitchen environment. The successful candidate must also hold a valid WA driver’s licence and be confident in collecting and transporting the food delivery vehicle from Lincoln Park to our Sandstrom facility.

Location 

Located in Central Highgate, close to the Perth CBD, Aegis Lincoln Park offers Low and High Care, with ageing in place where possible. Aegis Lincoln Park offers a range of accommodation and lifestyle options for 46 residents in four areas to complement a vibrant community in caring for the elderly. Of these rooms, 14 have ensuite bathrooms. The wings all have dining areas and access to gardens and patio areas. This location ensures that a large variety of shopping and service options including restaurants and shopping. Many 'day trip' venues are located close-by, providing a wonderful variety of choice for that special outing.

About the Role

A working day will involve:

• Organising kitchen staff in the preparation and serving of meals.
• Preparing resident’s meals according to dietary plans and menus developed.
• Managing receipt of stores, and food storage according to the relevant regulations.
• Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.

About You

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

• Enjoys working with the elderly.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Is able to supervise, organise and guide staff, to deliver high quality catering outcomes.
• Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
• Can communicate effectively both verbally and written.

You should possess the following:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
• Aged Care experience (highly regarded).
• A high level of food safety knowledge.
• Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
