As a Cook, you are a valuable member of the team working under the direction and support of the Chef Manager.

A working day will involve:

• Organising kitchen staff in the preparation and serving of meals.
• Preparing residents' meals according to dietary plans and developed menus.
• Managing receipt of stores and food storage in accordance with relevant regulations.
• Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

• Enjoys working with the elderly.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Is able to supervise, organise and guide staff to deliver high-quality catering outcomes.
• Is reliable, punctual and committed to providing excellent service.
• Can communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

You should possess the following:

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Experience in food preparation and cooking for large numbers of people.
• Aged care experience (highly regarded).
• A high level of food safety knowledge.
• Full Australian working rights and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
