About the role:

At Juniper, we believe in more than just serving meals we create nourishing, welcoming dining experiences for our residents and customers. Our Rowethorpe Catering facility in Bentley is seeking a dedicated and reliable Commercial Kitchenhand to help keep our kitchen operations running smoothly.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a busy, team-focused environment, takes pride in cleanliness and food safety, and enjoys supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver high-quality meals.

The successful candidate must be available to work the following shifts:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday from 9:15am-14:30pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
  • Assist with basic food preparation such as chopping, peeling, and portioning.
  • Support chefs and kitchen staff during service.
  • Ensure meals are delivered to Juniper sites promptly and efficiently.
  • Operate Juniper cafes, providing friendly food and beverage service.
  • Manage waste disposal and assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth service and great customer experiences.

Key Requirements:

  • Current driver’s license (essential)– you’ll be delivering meals to Juniper sites.
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, café, restaurant, catering service, or other hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the role.
  • Food Safety Handling Certificate (Level 1 or 2)
  • Certificate I or II in Kitchen Operations (or equivalent)
  • Barista experience desirable.
  • First Aid Certificate – desirable.
