About the role:
At Juniper, we believe in more than just serving meals we create nourishing, welcoming dining experiences for our residents and customers. Our Rowethorpe Catering facility in Bentley is seeking a dedicated and reliable Commercial Kitchenhand to help keep our kitchen operations running smoothly.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a busy, team-focused environment, takes pride in cleanliness and food safety, and enjoys supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver high-quality meals.
The successful candidate must be available to work the following shifts:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday from 9:15am-14:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Assist with basic food preparation such as chopping, peeling, and portioning.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff during service.
- Ensure meals are delivered to Juniper sites promptly and efficiently.
- Operate Juniper cafes, providing friendly food and beverage service.
- Manage waste disposal and assist with receiving, unpacking, and storing deliveries.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth service and great customer experiences.
Key Requirements:
- Current driver’s license (essential)– you’ll be delivering meals to Juniper sites.
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, café, restaurant, catering service, or other hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to meet the demands of the role.
- Food Safety Handling Certificate (Level 1 or 2)
- Certificate I or II in Kitchen Operations (or equivalent)
- Barista experience desirable.
- First Aid Certificate – desirable.
