As a valued member of our Catering team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality, nutritious meals that support patient wellbeing and recovery. Working to the highest standards of food preparation and presentation, you will ensure all meals meet Australian Dietary Guidelines and cater to a diverse range of dietary requirements.
You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient and customer-focused kitchen environment, while ensuring compliance with the Western Australian Health Department regulations and the Hospital’s Food Safety Management Plan. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Chef to make a meaningful contribution within a supportive healthcare setting.
The role is offered on a Permanent Part Time basis, working 30 hours per week
The Position
Prepare and deliver high-quality meals across hospital services, including bulk, à la carte, special diets, vegetarian menus and function catering.
Lead and support catering staff through training, meal preparation coordination, and maintaining presentation, portion control and service standards.
Ensure compliance with food safety, legislative and hospital standards while promoting efficient kitchen operations and waste minimisation.
Maintain high food safety, infection control, and workplace safety standards, ensuring compliance with legislation, guidelines, and documentation requirements.
Contribute as a senior team member by supporting quality improvement activities, fostering a positive team environment, and participating in ongoing training and professional development.
Holding a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (Chef Trade Certificate), you will bring proven experience within a hospitality, healthcare, or food service environment. Success in this role requires strong knowledge of safe food handling practices, HACCP principles, and food safety standards, together with a sound understanding of normal and modified diets, allergy management, and thickened fluids. These skills will enable you to consistently deliver high-quality, safe, and nutritious meals that meet the diverse needs of patients and customers.

We can offer you
Salary: $74,073 to $75,911 per annum (pro-rata) plus 12% superannuation
Permanent part-time position, working 30 hours per fortnight
