Chef de Cuisine

Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa is located on the world famous Cable Beach in beautiful Broome, far north Western Australia. Broome is easily accessible by plane to all major Australian cities and offers a relaxed lifestyle with all the conveniences of shops, restaurants, cinemas, hospital and schools. Our property has 225 rooms of varying styles, 4 restaurants, 2 pool side bars, banquet department, tour desk, resort shop and a full service Day Spa.

Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, we are seeking a strong leader to assume the position of Chef de Cuisine.

You will be responsible for ensuring that product quality presentation and service levels are of the highest standards at all times.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

• Significant experience in producing high end, quality food;
• A history of, and genuine interest in, training and mentoring more junior level Chefs and Apprentices;
• Previous experience supervising/managing large kitchen brigades of up to eight staff;
• Ability to rapidly adapt to change and lead change processes as required;
• A willingness to work as part of the greater Resort team;

You will need the following to be successful:

• Extensive experience with cooking and preparing food;
• Experience in cost control and menu creation;
• A thorough knowledge of workplace health and safety practices;
• Formal qualifications in Commercial Cookery;
• Well developed communication and time management skills;
• A high standard of personal presentation and grooming
