Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital
 

We offer on demand room service which allows patients to order delicious freshly prepared meals, snacks and beverages at a time that suits. The room service menu is available for patients to order between 6.30am and 8.00pm.

You will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting meals for patients and staff of the Hospital which are of a high standard of excellence, in accordance with the Australian Dietary Guidelines.
 

The position

  • Proficiency in all aspects of Hospital cooking i.e. cyclic menus, vegetarian dishes, special diets and function catering.

  • Preparing and cooking dishes as directed by the Executive Chef.

  • Directing catering caregivers in the preparation of ingredients for dishes.

  • Coordinating production and distribution of foodstuffs to various locations within the Hospital.
     

You will have recent experience as a Chef/Cook in a hospital, hospitality or similar environment. You will have a sound knowledge of and be able to monitor kitchen staff in the principles of food, personal and kitchen hygiene. You will be competent in the operation of all kitchen equipment and demonstrate the operational procedure of kitchen equipment to others.
 

To succeed you will have completed a recognised Chef Trade Certificate and have a sound knowledge of Safe Food Handling Process (HACCP and Food Safety). Previous supervisory experience will be highly regarded.

  • Salary: $71,568 to $73,334 base rate plus shift penalties plus 12% superannuation
