Are you passionate about coffee, community, and creating memorable café experiences? A new cafe is opening in early 2026, as part of the exciting transformation of the iconic WACA Ground into a vibrant, multi-sport and community precinct.  We’re looking for an energetic and skilled Barista to help bring it to life!

As a Barista, you’ll be the heart of our café experience. You’ll craft exceptional coffee, engage warmly with customers, and help create a welcoming, upbeat atmosphere. This is a unique opportunity to be part of something new and exciting from day one.

 How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Prepare and serve a range of espresso-based and specialty coffee beverages to a consistently high standard
  • Provide warm, professional, and efficient customer service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee machine, workstations, and front-of-house areas
  • Operate the POS system accurately for orders and transactions
  • Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels of coffee, milk, and related items
  • Uphold café presentation, hygiene, and food safety standards at all times
  • Assist with training new team members in coffee preparation and customer service
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen and floor team to ensure seamless service
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team oriented work environment
  • Support setup and pack-down duties, including opening and closing procedures
  • Generate creative input for daily specials and seasonal promotions to support business growth
  • Provide leadership to casual staff

 A great fit for this role looks like

  • Proven barista experience in a busy café or hospitality venue
  • Excellent knowledge of coffee equipment and preparation techniques
  • Passion for coffee, customer service, and hospitality
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and stay focused during busy periods
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Barista or hospitality certification
