Position Overview:
The Operations Café Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the café, ensuring high standards in food and beverage service, customer experience, staff management, and operational efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, multitasking abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee daily café operations including opening/closing procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory and supplies ordering to ensure stock levels are maintained.
- Monitor operational costs and implement cost-control strategies.
Staff Management
- Lead, train, and support front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
- Schedule staff shifts and ensures optimal staffing levels.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions if necessary.
- Foster a positive and productive team culture.
Customer Service
- Uphold a high standard of customer experience.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor and respond to customer feedback (in person and online).

Sales & Financials
- Assist in setting and achieving sales targets.
- Track daily sales, cash handling, and reconciliation.
- Work with the finance team on budgets, reporting, and payroll inputs.
Marketing & Promotion
- Support local marketing efforts, promotions, and events to increase foot traffic.
- Collaborate with the owner or marketing team for social media and in-store promotions.
Compliance & Procedures
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, health, and labour regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date operational procedures and training materials.
