Scope of work:

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Hand / Chef's Assistant to join our team on a permanent, full-time Fly-in-Fly-out basis. Ideally, you will be a qualified Chef as there will be occasions when you will be required to run the service, along with:

  • Maintaining Quality and hygiene standards to Food safe standards
  • Following systems set in place to maintain continuous improvement of the camp;
  • Using cleaning products in a safe manner as outlined in the SDS;
  • Maintaining kitchen hygiene;
  • Ensuring stock is restocked, labelled, rotated, and used to minimise food wastage.
  • Preparing food to Chef’s instructions.
  • Peeling and cutting vegetables.
  • Work as team with Chef on duty.

Requirements:

  • Australian Trade Certification or Cert III in Commercial Cookery (desired).
  • 2 years Chef experience (desired).
  • High-volume catering, including bulk catering and function/banquet experience
  • Experience in a mining village operation preferred.
  • Strong food safety and HACCP knowledge.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Able to work a flexible FIFO roster.
  • Police Clearance or willing to obtain one.
  • Medically fit to pass Pre-employment medical.
