About the Role

(The successful candidate should have a valid driver's license and be confident enough to drive an automatic delivery van)

Aegis Aged Care have several vacancies for experienced Kitchen Hands, within our beautiful Lincoln Park Facility.

The facility is located in Central Highgate, close to the Perth CBD, Aegis Lincoln Park offers Low and High Care, with ageing in place where possible and offers a range of accommodation and lifestyle options for 46 residents in four areas to complement a vibrant community in caring for the elderly. Of these rooms, 14 have ensuite bathrooms. The wings all have dining areas and access to gardens and patio areas.

As a Kitchen Hand you are a valuable member of the team working under the direction and support of the Cook/ Chef Manager.

A working day will involve:

• Preparing resident’s meals according to dietary / care plans in accordance with developed menus.
• Maintaining a clean working environment in accordance with infection control guidance.
• Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed.

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

• Enjoys working with the elderly.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
• Has good communication skills and interpersonal skills.

You should possess the following:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in Healthcare Industry).
• Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
• A knowledge of food safety.
• Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.
