🌿 Head Barista & Duty Manager – The Botanical Café, Kings Park

After an exciting refurbishment, The Botanical Café will reopen its doors in December 2025 — refreshed, reimagined, and ready to welcome guests back to one of Perth’s most iconic destinations.

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Head Barista & Duty Manager to join our leadership team and help bring our new vision to life.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the café’s grand reopening. You’ll lead our coffee program and support the day-to-day running of the venue, ensuring excellence in both the cup and on the floor. You’ll help build, train, and inspire a team that delivers high-quality service and genuine hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee Leadership

• Oversee all aspects of the coffee bar and service quality
• Prepare and serve exceptional coffee to specialty standards
• Manage coffee equipment calibration, maintenance, and supplier relationships
• Train, mentor, and roster barista staff
• Contribute to beverage innovation and seasonal menu development

Duty Management

• Lead front-of-house operations and staff during service
• Support the Venue Manager with opening/closing, cash handling, and daily reporting
• Maintain high standards of presentation, safety, and customer service
• Handle guest feedback and ensure smooth, positive experiences
• Assist in onboarding and training new team members before reopening
• Manage stock control and coordinate with suppliers

About You

• 2+ years’ experience in a senior barista or café management role
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
• In-depth knowledge of specialty coffee and café operations
• Confident managing high-volume service periods
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Approved Manager certification (or willing to obtain)
• Positive, hands-on attitude and passion for hospitality
