Barista School Perth & Jessie's Cafe is looking for a Barista Trainer!

Are you an experienced barista who’s not only passionate about crafting the perfect cup, but also loves sharing that passion with others? Do you enjoy helping people grow, learn new skills, and fall in love with coffee just like you did?

At Jessie’s Café and Barista School Perth, we’re looking for a Barista Trainer to join our team, someone who’s as comfortable behind the machine as they are in front of a group.

What does your job look like?
We will adapt the role to the right person. Our main priority being leading classes in our barista school. If you’re also keen to work in the café as a barista, there may be an opportunity to combine both.

As a trainer you’ll be:

  • Running engaging and hands-on half- or full-day barista classes (mostly for beginners, job seekers, or hospitality newcomers)
  • Using our proven training format, while also bringing your own flair and ideas to the table
  • Handling light admin tasks (e.g. attendance, feedback forms, certificates, etc.)

In the café, you’ll be:

  • Crafting consistently high-quality coffee that we’re known for
  • Delivering warm, friendly customer service that reflects our community vibe
  • Helping keep things running smoothly, from restocking beans to cleaning down the machine

We are looking for:
Someone who lives and breathes coffee and loves connecting with people. You’re a natural communicator, full of energy and warmth, and you know how to hold a room. You’re not afraid to get creative and you genuinely care about helping people succeed.

You’ll ideally have:

  • At least 2 years of barista experience and a strong grip on all the coffee fundamentals (dialling in, milk texturing, latte art, workflow)
  • Some experience in training or similar roles (e.g. coaching, mentoring, group facilitation, etc.)
  • A knack for explaining things clearly, making people feel welcome, and keeping a group engaged
  • A proactive mindset, you're happy to jump in, solve problems, and improve things as you go

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive hourly rate on a casual basis
  • A fun and supportive team that loves coffee and people equally
  • Flexibility in scheduling – we’ll work with you to find the right balance
  • The opportunity to make a real impact on people’s careers and confidence
  • A work environment with opportunities for career growth
